The Athens-Clarke County Police Department (ACCPD)
is the primary law enforcement agency for the Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County, Georgia. It is headed by Chief Joseph H. Lumpkin, Sr.
The department previously existed as two separate departments: Athens Police and Clarke County Police. The departments merged when the city and county governments of Athens and Clarke County unified in 1991.
